lots and lots of tidbits of varying sizes
~just got back from getting up to go to the bathroom. bad idea: i had been sitting crosslegged for a while with my laptop on my lap writing a paper (IE: reading blogs) and i put my laptop aside and immediately jumped off the bed (it's several feet higher than a normal bed) and my joints complained very loudly- all misaligned and shit- owwoww my legs
~speaking of my legs, i did something stupid at rehearsal today- the stage is down the steps through the audience and then up- no other steps just a three foot (i would guess) stage in front of you. i came down the stairs pretty fast and planned on jumping up onto the stage with no hands but once i hit the few feet of level ground before the stage i knew my timing was off- but i jumped anyway and fucked up my calf mad badly- it's all scraped and bruised and dried-blood-y now.
~speaking of rehearsal, the show came out really well. tonight was our last dress rehearsal, tomorrow is the preview. it was getting long and tiresome and too religious, but then we got a great sound designer and we gave the "good guy" (the holy man/pope peter de morrone) a clown nose to wear and taught him out to act like an actual clown- and we're getting closer to the director's actual vision- a movement theater piece based on this crazy play writing about papal politics and intrigues and demons and so forth but with the undertones and overtones of a satire, doing a lot with the "underbelly" of the main action with the chorus members on stage and getting that dichotomy- showcasing the fact that in the english language, words are only understandable as their concepts in the presence of their opposites. it's pretty cool but during the show i have to stay backstage- mad boring- but i get a nifty wireless headset!
~this morning i woke up determined to accomplish something. in between classes and work i convinced my friends to start building a fort structure in the woods with me, they agreed and even worked while i was at rehearsal, and now it's a really amazing fort, roomy inside and good walls and roof and already a good layer of leaves on top so it just looks like how big rocks look in fall. in fact, as we were wondering around tonight from 11:15 til midnight looking for our fort that was so easy to find in the daylight so we could show it to carolyn (who i think i have a mini crush on) and smoke there, i mistook a large leaf covered rock for our fort for a second- then again it was pretty dark and i wasn't wearing my glasses.
~speaking of wandering around in the dark for an hour and looking for the fort (the whole adventure was fun though) we went back to campus and went to CRAZYFEST, which was organized by some people including (i think) tim (who i think i also have a minicrush on, no i know i do), was basically musicians; bongos, djembe, string bass, harmonica, accordian, singers; jamming and the rest of us singing and making noise and dancing wildly on the fields by siberia which afford the best stargazing view on campus (quite impressive, especially after the four days of rain and clouds that we just got through) until security broke us up sometime after 1 am- not by choice, because security was enjoying the music, but because bitches on campus were complaining they couldn't sleep (assholes).
~i've been thinking of ways to spend as much time outside as possible- including adding an extra room on the fort for a fire pit, or expanding it somehow. thikning that life is best experienced outside, where it is a lot more real and connected and somehow more worthwhile.
~debating: pure productivity vs distilled productivity + getting high? i like getting high so much. i don't even get high really any more, i just get relaxed.... even when smoking the best weed on campus. that's saying something both about my tolerance and the amount i've been smoking, and the quality of weed on campus (bad at the moment, and surprisingly sparse)
~i think i should learn how to knit
~could i ever be as anal and enough of a bitch as i need to be a stage manager? it'd be a good job; just life- consuming.
~could i ever live in the city after this place? or would i welcome the city?
~halloween weekend is parents weekend- fuck that puts a huge damper on the festivities. plus we have a lecture the night of the 31st at 7 pm- what cruel people our academic administrators are.
~i've heard bad things about our administration here but i have no complaints so far.
~if nothing else, a relationship would be worth it for the body heat.
~sublime accoustic is underrated- it's not classic sublime sounding but delicate and gently beautiful in its own way.
~west coast bloggers have hugely inflated egos and are amusing awkward about it, at least in the podcasts i heard and the posts i've read. east coast bloggers seem to me like the more ideal kind of blogger- they blog more for themselves and almost out of habit that it's as good as a conversation with someone you might know and pass on the street- vaguely interesting tidbits that cropped up and pictures of their home city and their friends, impromptu, instead of blogging for blogging's sake and because the stats and ratings make your dick hard. then again, i get sucked into reading it anyway.
~being up at night is much more preferrable than being up in the day; pity there's so much SHIT to do during the day
~looking for a big fat paycheck on friday- can't wait!
~i do my best artwork on the backs of pages in my script during rehearsal or in my notebook during existentialism class, don't ask me. but i kind of want to save that notebook and my script just for the artwork.

really good sublime lyrics... "guava jelly/this train" (marley medley/cover) from the sublime accoustic: bradley nowell and friends album:

Yeah...

Baby I really want to know
I think you should stop your cryin'
Use my 'kerchief to dry your eyes
You know I love you

Ruby, here I am
A rub upon my belly like some Guava Jelly
Damsel, here I am
A rub upon my belly like some Guava Jelly

This Train, is Bound For Glory
This Train
Hear me talkin' about
This Train, is Bound For Glory
This Train
This Train, is Bound For Glory

This Train, will carry no unholy stone
That the builder refused
Shall always be the head cornerstone
Stone that the builder refused
Shall always be the head cornerstone

You're a builder baby
Here I am a stone
Don't mean to confuse it girl
'Cause the things you should use
Are the things we should choose
And you hear me
Hear what I say

This Train, Bound For Glory
This Train
This Train, is Bound For Glory
This Train
This Train, is Bound For Glory
This Train, carry no unholy

'Cause I
I just can't be scared...
